Dear Parents & Students,
Grandparents Day Chapel is this Friday, September 3rd. Invite your grandparents to attend this chapel service. THERE WILL ONLY BE ONE CHAPEL SERIVICE AT 10:30 AM ON THIS DAY. (NO CHAPEL SERVICE AT 8:30AM ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 3rd .
Monday, September 6th, is Labor Day.
There will be no school on this day. Heirway will be entering a float in the Douglasville Labor Day Parade this year. EVERYONE is invited to attend! We need lots of helping hands. Please be at the school by 8:00am on Monday, September 6th. Wear your HCA spirit shirts and join us for a lot of fun.
Friday, September 10th, will be 9/11-Rememberance Day. There will be no chapel service on this day. Students may wear a red, white, or blue shirt and blue jeans. Each class will walk to the Douglasville Public Safety Departments (Fire Dept., Police, Sheriff, and 9/11 Dispatch) and distribute baked goods, fruit, and vegetable trays to these departments. Please mark your calendars and meet in the gym by 8:45 am on this day. Parents are welcome to join us as we honor these community heroes for their service. Your room mom will contact you to let you know what each class is asked to bring on this day.
Our first PTF (Parent Teacher Fellowship) for this school year is on Tuesday, September 14th at 7:00pm. This is a wonderful time for your family to meet other families and to hear about upcoming events at H.C.A. There will be many opportunities for you to help support the Academy by the giving of your time and abilities that God has blessed you with.
Individual school pictures will be taken for students in Kindergarten – 3rd grade on Thursday, September 16th and on Thursday, September 23rd, for students in 4th – 12th grade. Students may wear dress clothes or their school uniform for pictures. Blue jeans and T-shirts are not acceptable attire for this day.
THANKS TO EVERYONE who participated in the “Spirit Night”
at Chick-fil-A. We had a wonderful night of good food, great fellowship,
and loads of FUN!!!
