from the desk of Mr. Thomas

Mr. Timothy James Thomas is the Principal of Heirway Christian Academy.  Mr. Thomas was born in Garrett County, Maryland and lived there through his college years.  He attended Frostburg State University, a teacher’s college in the University of Maryland System.  Mr. Thomas received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and continued at the same university for 18 additional graduate credits.  Mr. Thomas moved to Douglasville, Georgia in 1998 after hearing Pastor Michael Draughon’s vision for Heirway Christian Academy.  Mr. Thomas accepted a full-time teaching position for the fourth grade.  He taught at several different levels for the next seven years.  During his eighth year at Heirway he accepted the position of Assistant Principal while maintaining the position for fourth grade.  Mr. Thomas is now the Principal at Heirway Christian Academy.  He has a Master’s Degree in Education with a concentration in Instruction through Central Michigan University.
