I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. My family moved to Douglasville in 1971. I attended Winston Elementary, Bill Arp Elementary, Chapel Hill Middle School and Douglas County High School. I am an Honor Graduate from the Art Institute of Atlanta with focus studies in Interior Design. I worked as an Interior Designer in many award winning design firms including KGB Interiors, Cygnet Interiors, and Excess Interiors in Tucker. I left the design business to begin a family and was blessed with two children, Thomas and Katherine, both of whom have attended HCA since kindergarten. While continuing to work with private interior design clients, in 2012, I was invited to teach elementary art for students in 1st thru 6th grades. I was also asked to direct the After Care program at that time. I am fortunate to be a member of the Parent Action Committee (PAC) at Heirway, and I currently serve as the PAC president. I have previously served as a room mom and vice-president where I chaired/co-chaired several committees including 911 Remembrances, Fall Festival, HCA Annual Golf Classic, Teacher Appreciation Week, and the Cheesecake Fundraiser. Many improvements to Heirway have been accomplished with funds raised from these events. A lifelong church member, I was baptized at Central Baptist Church in Douglasville and for the past 15 years, I along with my children, attend Stewart Avenue United Methodist Church in Atlanta. I am blessed and continually excited to be able to share my love of art and design in the amazing Christ centered atmosphere of HCA.
