Mrs. Sharron Heard has the pleasure of teaching third grade at Heirway Christian Academy. Mrs. Heard has lived in Douglas County since 1980, and is certified for Pre-K through GAC. Her career objective is to instill in the hearts of young children the love of Jesus Christ, and to give them the strong foundation needed to succeed both spiritually and academically. She has been involved in Christian education from the time her first child began Kindergarten. Mrs. Heard worked alongside the Kindergarten teacher for several years, and she began to feel that God was calling her to teach. Mrs. Heard began teaching at Heirway when it was established in 1998, and she has since been teaching Pre-K. She is married with 5 children of her own, as well as 3 stepchildren. Five of her children graduated from Christian school, four of whom graduated from Heirway. Mrs. Heard also has nine grandchildren. Mrs. Heard's interests outside of school include working with flowers and her pond. She enjoys these activities because they enable her to spend time with the Lord. Mrs. Heard's passion for teaching is summed up in her statement, "It is a joy to see the excitement in students as they learn about God and his love for them."
