My name is Tim Thomas and I have been involved at Heirway since it’s induction in 1998. I was born in the Appalachian Mountains of Garrett County, Maryland and lived there through my college years. I attended Frostburg State University, a teacher’s college in the University of Maryland System, and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and continued at the same university for 18 additional graduate credits. I moved to Douglasville, Georgia in 1998 after hearing the vision for Heirway Christian Academy and accepted a full-time teaching position for the fourth grade. I taught at several different levels for the next seven years. During my eighth year at Heirway, I accepted the position of Assistant Principal while maintaining the position as fourth grade teacher. I had the honor of serving as Head of school from 2006-2021. I now serve Pro Bono as Chief Advisor to the current Head of School. I obtained a Master’s Degree in Education with a concentration in Instruction through Central Michigan University. My wife Beth (President and CEO of Heirway) and I were married in 2005 and we have two children, Presleigh (2008) and Tate (2011) who also attend Heirway Christian Academy. We love Heirway!
